More in our "BEYOND RETURNS" planning series! This is such an important and yet overlooked area of wealth planning. The idea that multiple generations of stewards (and therefore donors) exist in one family tree! Consider that assets owned by God (Psalm 24:1, Colossians 1:16) are only momentarily "owned" by the current generation. Then consider that a completely different tax system exists regarding the value of assets transferred across generations. It's time to get down to the basics. In this week's important discussion, we continue acknowledge the greatest financial risk a family has - a failed wealth transfer between generations - but we focus on the basic technical considerations involved in transferring wealth over (and after) a lifetime (or lifetimes, in the case of a married couple). Let's press forward!
